Access, Equity & Diversity
Everyone Deserves a Warrior in Their Corner
Acknowledgment of Country
SURVIVR National acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we work and deliver services across Australia. We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past, present, and emerging, and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters, and community.
We acknowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have survived profound trauma, dispossession, and systemic oppression—and continue to demonstrate extraordinary strength, resilience, and cultural sovereignty. SURVIVR is committed to culturally safe, trauma-informed practice that honours lived experience and Aboriginal self-determination.
Our Commitment to Access & Equity
SURVIVR believes that financial barriers should never prevent someone from accessing survivor-led support. We are committed to removing obstacles and creating pathways for all people—regardless of economic status, location, background, or circumstance—to receive the guidance they deserve.
We recognise that:
-
Trauma disproportionately affects marginalised communities
-
Systemic barriers create additional obstacles for those already struggling
-
True equity requires active effort, not just good intentions
-
Access means more than availability—it means removing every barrier we can
Financial Access Options
Sliding-Scale Placements
SURVIVR is founded and led by a survivor with a Master of Social Work, over a decade of progressive leadership experience, and professional roles across justice, family violence, mental health, and community services. This isn't performative inclusion—this is legitimate expertise born from both lived and learned knowledge.
Flexible Payment Plans
We combine clinical frameworks with the raw wisdom that comes only from survival. Our programs integrate trauma-informed practice, therapeutic modalities, and the strategic insights of someone who's navigated the exact systems our clients face.
Priority Access for Survivors Exiting Violence
Our warrior-focused approach produces tangible outcomes: increased agency, narrative transformation, employment readiness, confidence rebuilding, and sustainable behaviour change. We track progress, celebrate wins, and create pathways from survival to thriving.
Service Delivery Options
SURVIVR services are available in multiple formats to ensure accessibility regardless of location, mobility, or personal preference:
Video Conferencing — Available Australia-wide via secure platform
Phone — For those preferring voice-only or without reliable internet
In-Person — Melbourne-based sessions (subject to practitioner availability)
All formats provide the same quality of survivor-led guidance and professional support.
Inclusive & Culturally Safe Practice
SURVIVR is committed to providing services that are:
Culturally Safe & Responsive
We respect and honour diverse cultural backgrounds, traditions, and healing practices. We recognise that trauma impacts different communities in different ways, and we adapt our approach accordingly.
LGBTIQA+ Affirming
SURVIVR provides gender-affirming, sexuality-inclusive support. All pronouns respected. All identities honoured. No judgment. No discrimination.
Disability Accessible
We work to accommodate diverse accessibility needs. If you require specific accommodations (communication support, session adjustments, etc.), please let us know and we'll do everything possible to meet your needs.
Neurodiverse-Friendly
Our approach recognises and respects neurodiversity. Sessions can be adapted for those with ADHD, autism, or other neurodivergent experiences.
Language & Communication
While services are currently delivered in English, we welcome inquiries about language support and will work to connect you with appropriate resources if language is a barrier.
